Unsurprisingly, this site is open to all types, no matter a person's body type, gender, orientation, or whatever sort of freaky shit they are into. Based on a quick overview of what the models present and their viewers respond to, you'll do exceptionally well if you have a certain kink or two. To get going, you'll only need a webcam, an internet connection, and a form of identification. They provide 24-hour support, so getting into the system should take no longer than a day or two.
This website has been around since 1999, so they have managed to grab a great deal of web traffic. As of October 2023, Stream Ray has been netting a little over 290,000 page views with an average visit time being an impressive 11 minutes and 06 seconds. To put that into perspective, most websites don't get visits that last more than a couple of minutes.
You Can Do Several Sorts Of Shows
There are five sorts of webcam shows that you can do, and they all have interesting upsides. The basic form of a live show is free, and usually, models are fully clothed or at least in lingerie. Typically, this is a tactic to lure viewers in until one person or several of them are willing to pay to get the experience even further. Before you do, though, you still might be able to get token tips first.
Some members start with nude shows, which are a great way to grab more attention, but you'll have to show off the goods once you start streaming. The idea from here is to get your viewers into a private show where tips are given out like candy on Halloween. A variant of this is tipping chat, in which a model has a list of kinky stuff they are willing to do if enough tokens are given by one or a collection of viewers.
You can go into a private cam2cam session. You'll be seeing only one other person who has got their cam going, but if they have put up the money to reserve a show, you know that they have plenty of extra money to tip you with.
Lastly, if you have a show that went really well that you recorded, then use it again and sell it on your profile.
Ideally, Your Earnings Could Be Pretty Good
As a rule, you get out what you put in when it comes to webcamming. Of course, it is going to depend a lot on how much of a cut the platform that hosts you shares. When I checked, I got conflicting reports on the average that a cammer makes per week. Stream Ray says that their models make thousands per week, but third-party sites give specific figures. One review site I looked at said that female models often make as much as 3,000 per week, with guys making about a third to half of that, and trans as well as couples earn on average somewhere between the two extremes.
That does not account for how many hours you put in, which will likely be well over forty per week. It is also worth noting that scammers only get 30% of whatever their viewers spend.
To get a better idea, I went to the Cam Girl Problems subreddit to get numbers from Stream Ray models. Kmikek is a male crossdresser and thus has a different market than most others, but he does make a respectable $20 an hour. Kocky Consideration says that she makes a decent amount, though their income is $550 a week with fifteen hours worked in that period. When they work twenty hours, that jumps up considerably to $900. According to Persephone Rose, she makes $40 to $60 an hour. Skyler On Fire and other users say that the top rate is at about $50 an hour.
When it comes to how you collect your earnings, Stream Ray can send them to you in several ways. Besides ACH and wire transfers, they can send you a check or through Payoneer, Paxum, e-payments, and N26.
This Site Has Been Optimized For An International Audience
As far as how this site performs on different devices, it is excellent whether you are using a laptop, mobile phone, or tablet. That means that the bulk of net users will enjoy this site and your shows no matter how they get online. That should be expected, and it is true that most other cam sites are optimized appropriately.
However, a lot of websites in this space and others do not invest in making their website readable in multiple languages. Stream Ray is an exception as they not only have cammers and viewers from all over the world, but you can view this site in English, Spanish, German, and French. That was not surprising to me, but what I was shocked by was the fact that this site can be viewed in four other European languages, as well as Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean.
If You Can Pitch This Site, Be An Affiliate Or Run A Studio
Of course, this website has an affiliate program and its payout scheme is a little different compared to most other sites I have reviewed. Instead of a base rate, the more people you bring in who spend money, the greater the percentage.
So, if you bring in up to five members in a pay period, you'll get 20% of what those five people collectively spend. To put that into perspective, 100 tokens cost $11.99, which will keep most customers entertained for about five to ten minutes. Naturally, models try to keep their shows going for as long as possible, and the tips to keep on coming. It is more likely that they'll end up spending at least $50 to get 500 tokens, which should last them an entire session or two.
Assuming then that you bring in five members and they spend that in a month, you'll get a cool $50 just for that. If you bring in six to twenty-five members, then you get 22% of what they spend. This rate caps at 35% for bringing in four hundred and one subscribers.
If you bring a new cam model onto the platform, you get to make 10% of their net earnings for the first six months of their career.
Another opportunity that Stream Ray provides, and a lot of other cam sites do not, is a means to make money running a studio. As that means you'll have to bring in and recruit your own models, there is a lot more work involved, but the rewards are worth it, and there is not much investment required on your part. To get started, all you'll need is to fill out an application, submit a valid ID, and have a stable connection to the net. It is not guaranteed, but the top studios make $50,000 a month, and you could be one of them.
I Think Just About Anyone Can Make Good Money
While not as popular as the biggest cam sites like Chaturbate and Bonga Cams, this website does still have a fantastic amount of traffic and reasons to get new people to spend money on. If you are a woman, I think your odds of being one of the highest earners is relatively slim. If you are a guy or part of a couple, I see it going either way. Given how popular trans performers are all over the web and how there are not too many here if you're a ladyboy, you have great chances of grabbing loads of tips.
Regardless, I have seen enough evidence the models do quite well here. Further, the affiliate and studio production programs are excellent. So, whether or not you want to model, there are a couple of ways to make cash here.
