Make Your Own Characters, Your Own Way
I’ve reviewed hundreds of adult-oriented AI chat apps to date, and Xchar.ai may be the first one I’ve seen that includes three different custom character generators.
You can create custom chatbots using either a menu-based or more advanced prompt-based interface, offering a nice balance between simplicity and more elaborate masturbatory tomfoolery.
Both the Simple and Advanced character machines offer a selection of menus for quick and easy character setup, though the Advanced mode does offer a bit more versatility in fine-tuning the details. The Custom creator is where you’ll find the prompts to fill in, and I’ve got some great news on that front: they offer AI assistance to help flesh out those details without spending all day fantasizing and typing.
I opted for the Custom character generator, where I typed a very brief description: “goth babe with huge boobs”. After tapping the Refine Description button, that weak blurb was enhanced with details like pale skin, dark makeup and hair, as well as a black corset, fishnet stockings and some personality deets. I spent a few credits using this souped-up description to generate a character card, and to my pleasant surprise, the AI filled in the other prompts for First Message, Character Description, Definition and more.
Aside from the AI assistance, a couple other elements stood out as fairly unique for this crowded niche. For one thing, you can preselect your AI image model, which will help set the visual vibe. The selectable voices are, as mentioned earlier, much more realistic than earlier apps, and the options for Response Style and Flirtiness let you dial in just the right tone without spending all fucking day doing so. I decided my new waifu would respond in a roleplay style for increased narrative immersion, and I opted for the Horny flirtiness level since it’d paid off so well with Isabella.
I spent 200 credits to finalize the character, and the AI took about 20 seconds to generate a photorealistic pic of a thick, 25-year-old goth girl named Nadia. Her opener is a mix of italicized scene setting, dropping her into a velvet booth in a lounge where she catches my eye. “You’ve got that look,” she says, “like you’re searching for something real in all this haze.
